Water to cover apples in pot
Yellow food coloring, or red and yellow to make orange (optional)

Place sliced, peeled, and cored apples in a stockpot
Add water just enough to cover apples
Add two cinnamon sticks
Bring to a boil
Reduce heat to medium low
Allow contents of stockpot to simmer for an hour and a half stirring every 15-20 minutes
When applesauce reaches desired consistency add sweetener of your choice
At this point use caution as mixture will be VERY hot
Allow mixture to come to room temperature before adding food coloring (if so desired)

Ok, you girls are so much fun! Going out to grab some fresh apples, making applesauce with Grace tonight after she gets home from volleyball! That’s what’s for dessert tonight in the Trunz house while we watch “Dancing with the Stars!”….

Hi!
I am LOVING these recipe videos! I never learned to cook and know absolutely NOTHING about getting around in the kitchen. When I read that the video was going to be making home-made applesauce I chose not to even watch it at first because I figured it was WAY BEYOND me and my abilities!

After watching your video, I’m really tempted to try this! I didn’t know how to peel and core an apple (I thought there was probably some special machine you needed) but now I see it’s as easy as cutting! What kind of knife was that Olivia? It looked nice! Oh, and did you have to keep stirring the apples while they cooked? I don’t have a stockpot but maybe I can find one somewhere. I really want to try and impress myself by trying to make this! I think I would feel proud and learn something from it!

So, thank you very much for your videos!
Much love to you both!!!!
